THE GRAND BAZAAR

Trade. Contracts. Opportunity.

The Grand Bazaar is a shared roleplay and utility space where characters, guilds, and factions may offer services, strike deals, and build influence through commerce and reputation.

This is where stories intersect through trade—not just gold.

WHAT IS THE GRAND BAZAAR?

The Bazaar functions as both:

  • An in-character marketplace (contracts, services, negotiations)
  • An out-of-character hub (guild pages, shop listings, advertisements)

It is the central place for:

  • Mercenary contracts
  • Crafting and trade services
  • Information brokering
  • Religious offerings
  • Political or covert dealings

If your character does something for others, it belongs here.

WHAT YOU CAN POST

Guild Pages

A central hub for your organization.

Use this to showcase:

  • Who you are
  • What services you offer
  • Members
  • Reputation and past work

Guilds are encouraged to build identity and presence over time.

Shops & Services

Individual characters or groups offering:

  • Weapons, armor, or crafted goods
  • Healing, alchemy, or specialty work
  • Mercenary services
  • Transportation or escort
  • Intelligence, espionage, or less legal work

If someone can hire you—you belong here.

Advertisements

Looking for something?

Post ads for:

  • Hiring mercenaries
  • Seeking craftsmen
  • Calling for aid
  • Offering rewards

These can lead directly into roleplay threads.

HOW IT WORKS (CORE SYSTEM)

The Bazaar is story-driven, not currency-driven.

Instead of coins, value is determined by:

  • Completed threads
  • Reputation
  • Agreements between players
  • Narrative outcomes

You are not grinding gold—you are building influence and credibility.

REPUTATION & IMPACT

Consistent Bazaar use can lead to:

  • Recognition across the setting
  • Repeat clients and alliances
  • Influence in Development or Diplomacy threads
  • Opportunities to affect larger events

A well-known guild can carry as much weight as a small major faction in the right hands. Start small, you can't start with the greatest reputation in the realm. Build from local to regional through roleplay and actual writer interaction.

GUIDELINES FOR POSTING

  • Keep posts clear and organized
  • Separate OOC info from IC presentation if needed
  • Update your listings as your faction or character grows
  • Avoid spam or excessive reposting

Quality presence > constant posting.

ROLEPLAY EXPECTATIONS

  • Agreements made in-character should be honored or broken in-story
  • Conflicts (betrayals, failed contracts, etc.) should lead to roleplay, not OOC issues
  • Players are encouraged to take Bazaar interactions into full threads

The Bazaar is a starting point—not the end.

STAFF & MODERATION

  • Staff may step in if disputes arise
  • Clearly broken agreements without narrative follow-up may be reviewed
  • Bazaar activity may influence world events or NPC reactions
