HISTORY
To be a Demici is to be faithful to one's family and faith, and such were the ideals instilled into Cesare's mind since childhood. Unlike many of his family, however, Cesare would find himself walking a different path in his early adult years. This was largely due to a distaste for his father that had developed over time. As a priest, his father Pietro had to separate from Cesare's mother. Though he maintained support for both Cesare and his mother, the distance forced by Pietro's position stirred an air of bitterness in his young son.
As a teen, Cesare began to hang around local taverns, intrigued by the tales told by grizzled veterans in the late hours of the night. Wishing to follow in the footsteps of those he spent time around, Cesare began to seek some sort of military profession. This came at the displeasure of his father, who stepped in and demanded that Cesare respect his station in life. Despite this, Pietro didn't wish to completely alienate his son, and thus found a way to keep Cesare in the fold. He petitioned for Cesare to join a holy knightly order known as the Brotherhood of the Azure Rose, and it wasn't long till Cesare was fighting side by side with them.
His time among the Brotherhood was well-spent, with Cesare honing his skills of both blade and mind. He distinguished himself among the Azure Rose, and earned quite the name for himself across Curian lands. Over time however, Cesare found himself wishing for more opportunities to crush the opponents of the Curia, and such opportunity meant he would require more political pull. Thus, he found himself leaving the Brotherhood in favor of a position within the clergy of the Sanctus, using his family name as leverage to make himself indispensable. The Sanctus, having taken note of both his name and reputation, chose to bring him into a place of greater authority, so long as he fulfilled a single purpose. He was to travel to the distant land of Ceshemia as the duchy's new archbishop, and would be tasked with using his position to root out whatever heathen threats might be lurking on the borders of Curian Ostrien.
Upon reaching Ceshemia, he was met with much resistance from the then Duke of the region, Marian. This relationship took an unexpected turn, however, after an attempt to assassinate Marian (now Martin) during his coronation. Cesare and Martin were both injured in the fray, and were forced to spend time together while healing from their wounds. Over time they developed a strong friendship, despite their spiritual differences. Cesare's eyes began to open, and he found himself strangely at home among the local pagans. When Otto von Annenfeld made his move against the gathering Eastern Marches of the Empire, Cesare joined the fray alongside his old comrades within the Azure Rose, fighting alongside the Ceshi and their allies. He now sits as the Archbishop of the newly formed Great Goravolst, doing his best to help the recently crowned Czar Martin in the task of turning the new kingdom into a truly great nation.

APPEARANCE
Filled with equal parts spiritual countenance and soldierly swagger, Cesare carries a rather universally charismatic air about him. His dark, well-kept hair and soft skin show signs of nobility, though hidden behind his dark brown eyes is a lifetime of battle, and his calloused hands tell the story of a man that isn't afraid to get them dirty. He is often seen wearing his priestly robes, his armor from the Azure Rose, or some combination of both. More often, however, he is dressed practically, as his duties often see him traveling across Great Goravolst.

PERSONALITY
Upon first glance, Cesare is clearly a man of noble blood, carrying all of the countenance and power of his name in his stride. This air of dominance is compounded by his renown and position within the ranks of the Sanctus, having proven both his faith and skill many times over. Beneath the surface, however, lies a certain swagger more befitting of a soldier than a priest, a quality that has stuck with him during his time serving on the field of battle. He is a man of strong devotion, but might find himself just as comfortable among the rabble as he might among the upper echelons of the Sanctus.

BELIEFS
Cesare carries a deep faith in Curian beliefs, though he has recently become more tolerant of other religions. His heart has always shown care for the commonfolk, no matter who they may be, despite his strict upbringing. He believes that it is the duty of those with power to protect those that cannot protect themselves. This has often put him in situations where he was forced to commit acts that are seen as potentially heretical within the Sanctus, whether it's protecting Jaharan civilians during his work across the sea, or siding with Czar Martin during the secession of the Eastern Marches. He does his best to embody the ideas of being a proper knight, even though he sometimes fails to live up to that idealistic image.
