Descended from Maximilian the Crown Prince, the Maximilians form the senior line of the House of Mereling and assert the strongest hereditary claim to rule by primogeniture as the eldest bloodline of Marloman's grandsons. The disappearance of their founder and the fragmentation of Atergonie, however, long deprived them of a stable base of power. Slowly but surely, they have begun to press their claim in the wake of the devastation following King Lestat's death, rising as Counts of Par'Leu, yet they remain far from securing the throne of their ancestors.
The Maximilians
The Maximilians, senior heirs of the House of Mereling with the strongest hereditary claim, have only recently begun reasserting their bid for the throne of Merovingia after long weakness and mysterious circumstances, but remain far from reclaiming it.
